Amy and Paul wed on a stunning Winters day at the utterly romantic Montsalvat in Eltham.

As the preferred florist for Montsalvat in Eltham I have the pleasure of decorating and styling on site for the Wedding Open Day. I met Amy originally at the open day and I was struck by her enthusiasm for all things forest-y and floral. Amy was studying floristry and loved loads of texture and copper tones to compliment her dress and gorgeous red hair.
For Amy’s winter wedding we talked about really playing with interesting elements like berries, moss, succulents and unusual foliages to enhance the space for her ceremony and reception and add warmth and light.
Hellebores were blooming in my cutting garden and they were the perfect chocolate burgundy tone to pair with open peach garden roses, white ranunculas and white anenomes. Other elements from my garden were the succulents, foliages and queen anne’s lace. I loved how the burnt autumnal shades worked with Amy’s latte dress with lace overlay.
To finish the bridal bouquet, I wrapped the stems with matching silk ribbons and offcuts from Amy’s dress. I made a floral comb with loads of andromeda and mini roses for the bride and a matching buttonhole for the groom.
Montsalvat is such an utterly romantic venue in the Yarra Valley and I love using mixed pillar candles and my soft draping silk linens with simple open blooms for the weddings that I style here.
For the wedding ceremony in the Upper Gallery I placed clusters of candles and lush draping foliages down the aisle and to frame the space, copper lanterns and moss gardens featuring brown orchids and berries.
The tables in the Great Hall were laid with ivory silk and moss runners and clusters of pillar candles, birch wood tealights, open blooms and berries. The room looked amazing with all the warm candlelight and warm autumn tones.Mel, from Cherrytree Bakehouse, made the most magnificent cake and I added draping andromeda, orchids and succulents.
